Looks like George Orwells predictions for the metropolis are ringing true, only not so much oppression.
I personally feel it's an infringement of privacy having your life scrutinised nearly everywhere you go. Is it any wonder we've become a nation of paranoid puppies all to easily submissive to the degree of surveillance and intrusion.
The justification for ID card and surveillance cameras everywhere is that, if you've got nothing to hide then why object to there presence? Well WE should strongly object because we, as individuals are free spirits, and I for one do not my life invaded by, as you so rightly put it, Big Brother.

Do you believe that America and Britian are in cahoots with Bush/Blair? I believe that the two leaders share the same belief in the shaping of the two countries. Americans, as well as Brits, are slowly leaning towards a fascist society and are doing so by brainwashing the peasants through media propaganda. They use "terrorism" to make us feel that we have to give up our civil liberties otherwise we won't be safe. This is how they will end up with nat'l ID cards and probably microchips at some point. I don't think that I have an answer as to how to get this to not happen - do we think that changing the political makeup will change anything? NOPE...but if you pass your message on to as many people as you can and push for people to listen to more progressive talk radio and such, there might be a chance. Otherwise, we're bloody screwed.

Don't think so. Muslim women aren't persecuted for wearing veils, they're being asked not to wear them, religion was always a political arm, no cameras are watching my movement mate, and who cares if the government want ID cards? I'm not getting one!
The free Britain is where people decide to have it.

Turning into the Orwellian concept? We're not there yet, but we're on the way.

Being overrun by never-was reality tv "celebrities"? Not only are we there, but we're number 1!

[Edit]

Oh I do like the idea of a nacho hat. Is that one of those ones with a dent in the top for salsa?
