It's painful, luv!
My hubby and I had matching tattoos done on our wrist a few years back. It was a very small, very simple design, but it turned out to be one of the most painful experience ever!
Although my hubby did get half of his back tattooed a few years back as well and he says that THAT was an experience in pain he won't forget!

Hi, First off, I'm so sorry about your father. I totally understand wanting to get something to commemorate his passing, and also the desire to have it somewhere you can see often. That being said... I like the design, but it is unlikely you will be able to get that writing on your wrist unless you get a bigger tattoo. Tattoo needles can't make writing that is super small. What happens is over time, the ink kind of "spreads" a bit under your skin. So small writing will most likely turn into a mushy blob of black ink. And you don't want that with this tattoo! I have two suggestions. One would be to just get the design on your wrist and the writing somewhere else (like below or across your shoulder blades in back--you can cover it for work, but people will see it with a tank top, or on your ankle, ribcage, or foot). The other suggestion would be to move the whole tattoo. Someone else suggested getting it on your ankle, which is a good place. You will be able to see it but can wear tights, boots, or pants if necessary to cover it for work. So my only suggestion is enlarging or moving the writing... It's a beautiful phrase ("this too shall pass"-- I've been sober in AA for many years now and this is a benchmark phrase of Alcoholics Anonymous), and I think it should definitely go with the design, but make sure it's big enough that it won't get messed up. Good luck to you... And my best goes out to you over the loss of your dad...

The only reason I wouldn't put it there, is because right or wrong, unfortunately there are people in the world who look down upon people with tattoos, so you really should put it a little further up so that it can be hidden for professional reasons. Mine is just above my watch. I wore a long sleeve jacket to my last job interview, got the job, now I run around in short sleeves, and there really is nothing they can do about it, except scrunch up their nose at me, and I've proven that it doesn't mean anything, I am just intelligent and hard working as anyone who frowns upon them, in most cases a whole lot more intelligent and hard working.

Well, that depends on what you want and where you work. Sometimes real careers don't like seeing tattoos and being on the wrist it might be hard to keep covered up but if you don't have a real career and don't have on it then go for it!

If you're unsure about it, it's probably a bad idea. The question about tattoos is, do you think you're going to want that tattoo five or ten or twenty years from now? Because if you get tired of it, it is painful to remove.

Just remember that if you are looking for a job or at a job that requires apperance then others will be able to see it always. Tattoo are there forever. I have four but all are in places that are easy to hide. Good luck

there are a lot of blood vessels there (that's why suicides dealing w/ cutting usually go for the wrist). also, there is bone (I heard that tattoo needle against bone hurts). also, it may be hard to hide (say, going for professional interview and person doesn't like tattoos, cant' really cover up your wrists unless you have a really long sleeve). your call.

My suggestion is for you to get a tat. were you can easily cover it up allot of employers look down on tats. And allot of people who get tats eventually grow to regret it (me included). So if you really want at tat pick a spot were you can easily cover it up with your clothing. And FYI never get a name tattooed on you. LOL
GOOD LUCK
