Co-workers of mine take b-12 sublingual and say it works very well for keeping them alert all day long. Does anyone have any idea if one works better than the other, or if taking b 12 when not lacking in that vitamin is dangerous?

You should be careful taking vitamins you don't need. There are types of vitamins that cannot be brokendown/expelled from the body. They do considerable damage. Maybe you are tired b/c you are abusing No Doze.

Why don't you stop the caffine and start sleeping more/eating right/exercising? I promise you that your entire problem is related to the No Doze. Stop taking them and you'll be fine. You don't need all of this other crap - you just need a good diet, plenty of sleep, and exercise. The body is a wonderful machine. Give it a chance to do what it's suppose to naturally.

You're tired now b/c your body is constantly stimulated. You're crashing. Don't push yourself so hard. People need down time. Your body reacts the way it should - it's up to you to pay attention to these signs.

As quoted:
Water soluble vitamins - such as the B group vitamins and vitamin C - cannot be stored by the body to any great extent, so if you take in more than your body needs, they are simply excreted. However, the fat soluble vitamins A and D can accumulate in the body, but pose no danger to your health if consumed within the safe upper limits indicated for them. The exception is in pregnancy, when large amounts of vitamin A may pose a risk to the developing infant.

Also quoted:
Those that begin to develop a tolerance to caffeine are those most likely to face the dangerous side effects of its consumption. With the creation of a tolerance come the effects of withdrawal if enough caffeine intake is not maintained. The direct result of caffeine withdrawal is an over sensitivity to adenosine, which will cause blood pressure to reduce dramatically most commonly causing headaches. Other symptoms include anxiety, drowsiness, irritability, fatigue, and nausea. In cases that are more serious it may cause depression, diminished motivation, and an inability or concentrate.

You need to read this article on the dangers of caffine:

I would recommend finding out what is causing you to be so sluggish instead of just trying to fix it. It could be something really simple. Millions of people suffer from a sleeping disorder and have no idea they have one. Waking up ever day and never feeling rested is one of the biggest signs of a sleeping disorder. When your body receives an adequate amount of sleep, 6 to 8 hours, you should feel completely refreshed when you wake up. If you don't then you could be suffering from sleep apnea and not know it. This condition if left untreated will worsen over time. I would talk to your doctor about it and see if you qualify for a sleep study. It is completely pain free and you would never regret doing it. Especially when you start to wake up completely energized in the morning.

Taking No-Doz on a daily basis is not a good idea. You could become dependent on it...or from the looks of it--that's already happened.

See a dr already. As mentioned by others, you could be anemic, have some other type of vitamin deficiency or some other underlying medical condition affecting your sleep.

where do u work??? all vitamins and sumplements are metabolised in your liver ... so please give it a break :) if u have b-12 defieciency then u should be anemic. but if have anemia does not mean u lack b-12, anemia can be due to a variety of factors that only a doctor with the proper blood tests can diagnose. but this is a symptom of i believe .... thousands of illnesses, so please make an appointment now .... and perhaps find a new job, it seems u guys are a bad influence to each other :)

As long as you don't go crazy on it. But follow the directions on the sub-lingual B-12.

You have to stop using the No-Doze. It hypes you up and then you crash. Then you feel you need to take more, and you crash...and on and on. You have to get rid of it. You'll balance out.

Its not going to hurt you to take the B-complex sub-lingual. I do, and it does help some. Also, try drinking Pomegranate Juice, that has help me a lot (believe it or not). If you can try to get off the No Doze, if you can stand coffee, try that instead of the no doze. My suggestion is take the B-complex, drink some pomegranate juice, and if you like coffee, drink some or that.

stop taking the no doze. you need to get off that addiction. it will be tough for a while, but eventutally your body willl regulate itself and you won's seem so tired.

colas, tea and coffee will also give you an artificial pick up wich should be avoided.
