So far most of the responses have been brilliant (yes i meant ulcers).

This is a little project i'm working on for a media pitch (i'm in media sales).

Has anyone got any scientific proof of anything... a link to a web journal or something would be great!

I think they can happen any time. I tend to get them after I've bitten my lip or the inside of my mouth. TCP seems to help if you gargle with it.
