I can hear the 4wd engage when I hit hi 4wd. But when I hit low it just keeps blinking. No sound or anything. I haven't owned the truck long so haven't had the opportunity to use it off road as of yet. The past 4wd's I have owned haven't had this problem.

Usually, as a safety measure, the vehicle must be in neutral and a dead stop before you can put the gearbox in 4LO. I'm not sure if it is a 100% dead stop or under 5 mph, but I'm confident that you must be in neutral to put it in 4LO and barely moving if at all. Try that and it should work for you.

You have to put it in park or neutral and set the parking brake, then push the button. It has shift on the fly 4wd, but that only applies to 4 high. 4 low is a completelty different animal.

i own a repair shop, and all of the newer ones past 91 have a switch on the transfer case that makes it lock the front differential up,one side if the switch may be bad or just stick from not being used, try putting it in and letting it roll forward ,and then back ward and see if the engages it,,all the newer ones are electric lock, and it sometimes does give trouble, but i wouldn't think that yours will would be tore up ,maybe just stiff from not being used, good luck i hope this help,s,,PS some times you wont hear the new ones clink in on the low side ,they also have a fuse for the shift on them make sure it is good.
