So earlier this year, Northwestern a Division I-A school played New Hampshire, a Division I-AA team. I was just wondering if Division II and Division III teams were able to do the same? I highly doubt I'll ever see a Division III team take the field at Ohio State or anything, but is it allowed?

They can play but for the Division I schools, the wins don't count toward bowl eligibility.

PAC 10 and Big 10 The president from The Over rated Ohio State even said he would never sign off on a play off as long as he gets a vote! Those 2 conferences are brainwashed into thinking that winning the Rose Bowl is WAY more immportian than ever winning a national championship. And that's the bottom line Other people will say there's no time for it because these are students, but that's crap, if you have a December bowl it's scheduled right during most university's finals week. Also considering the graduation rates of Div 1 football players is the lowest of all Student Athletes with the current system. Plus last time I checked, Ice Hockey, Basketball, and Wrestling all are played during the same time that a football playoff would be so it's not a real excuse.

It's allowed, but I don't know the limitations on how far up or down a school can schedule games. Div. II Slippery Rock plays Div. 1-AA Youngstown State quite often, but I wouldn't think we'd see Slippery Rock play a 1-A school or something.

I think so. Earlier this season, LaSalle (a I-AA school) played against Div III College of New Jersey - and LaSalle lost!
