Out of modern horror - gore fests??

I want to see blood spurting from every possible place on the body

and no hostel was not gorey at all.

unfortunately i'm not in the US so can't watch the 8 unscreened movies.

I have seen Saw 1 and 2 and they didn't make me squirm. I own all of the Day of the Dead but i'm not talking about the old movies that are gorey coz i've seen most of them.

I mean the new movies - like Saw / Hostel / House of 1000 Corpses

Maybe I'm just too desentatised or maybe i'm just twisted as some have suggested!

I agree...horror movies just aren't the same anymore.
But I was very suprised this weekend when I went to go see The Texas Chainsaw Massacre...VERY gory.
I will say it wasn't very scary, but it was pretty gory.

Check this link out...http://www.horrorfestonline.com/
I don't know if you've seen this preview at the theater lately. But there's a series of 8 Horror Movies that are deemed too gory/horrific for the general audiences, so for one weekend only, in select theaters across the U.S they will be showing these 8 movies...the link has trailers for each movie and the list of select cities isn't finished yet, so if yours isn't on the list, check back later.
I can't wait till these come out! I'll def. be seeing at least one!

Hostel was not gory at all. It was rubbish. The only part worth watching was when the guy had the backs of his ankles slashed and even then that was quite lame. (no pun intended)
I went and saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre : The Beginning last week and that however was quite gory. Some nice throat slitting blood spurting scenes and general cringe material. I like you clearly have a strong stomach and love horror/gore films and it takes a fair bit to make me cringe. Saw 3 is going to be somewhat cringe worthy from what i have seen of the trailers so keep an eye out.

No big studios want to make total gore fests as it will get an X rating and cinemas will refuse to show it because the audience allowed into an X is limited so less money for all concerned.

Just find old horror films from the 70s and 80s like day of the dead, the thing and driller killer. Im sure theres plenty there to satisfy your blood lust.

Really?! you didnt find Hostel gory?! Even the eye scene? I thought that was fantastic! What about the new "The Hills Have Eyes"? OK, not as gory, but it tried. How about Cube? At least the opening scene. Simular chopping effect in Resident Evil, and that haunted ship one. The film was good, and the opening sequence was everyone on a luxury liner outside dncing, then something goe wrong and rope chops everyone in half. That was good!

Honestly... there's no pleasing some people ;-) What have you seen that has been so gory then?

What kind of gore are you looking for?? There is the dawn of the dead gore where everything gets ripped up or there is the hostel gore where it makes you think about what is happening which can give you the creeps!!

Try the final destination movies, they supply a lot of gore and shock- like "Oh my god that really could happen in an accident!"

Some real gore (not Hollywood made up) would be the movies of drunk drivers that are shown in drivers ed. or try the movies "Faces of Death"

Hostel, really?
Anyway, what about Dawn of the Dead? Zombies getting killed left and right, people getting eaten, a zombie baby getting its head blown off, a lady getting sawed in half...

your supposed to be working! : P

saw 2 wasn't that bad, still want to see saw 3.... should be good

hostel was a tad gory though not as much as i thought it would be....... (and me thinks you squirmed in one place too!)

kind of agree with an earlier answer.... there's not that much of an audience for it!... hollywood ain't gona spend millions on a moive that has to go straight to dvd, or gets banned...... financial sense dictates that, .... so you'll have read books instead, and picture it!
