Russia (and any of its precursors) and Iran (Persia) had an alliance of any kind? If so, could you please give details?

Peace.

If "any of its precursors" includes "foreign conquerors", then Yes.

The Mongol Empire in the late 13th century covered both Iran and most of southern Russia. The Mongols made it all the way into Poland, but did not continue past Warsaw.

And if you think that the Mongol Empire is not a direct precursor, you are right. However, it is clear to me that Russia has been strongly influenced by its past domination by an Eastern empire.
