I use Windows Xp and Outlook Express. Whenever I recicve an email, most of the time, it says it has an attachment, although when I open it, it is just text, and no attachments. What's the problem?

This is probably because they have been virus checked and as they come through this "certification" comes through as an attachment. Don't worry about it, it means they're safe.

Picture in the Item Body One obvious way to add a picture to an Outlook item is to copy and paste the picture from some other source into the body of the item. You also can use Insert | Object, unless you're working with a plain text or HTML message. The problem with this method is that the embedded picture object can hugely increase the size of the item. There is also no easy way to update the picture without editing the body of the item. In an HTML message or post, you can use the Insert | Picture command. This doesn't have quite the overhead of a picture in an RTF item, but it does increase the size of the item somewhat. The advantage of this method is that you can use it with any Outlook item, except plain text messages, without the need for a custom form.

Its usually because Outlook will display the attachment if its in text form, right on the email itself, so you dont have to open it.

If its a mail thats been forwarded to you depending on the type of email server its been through it may contain a unicode version of the email to allow it to be read by certain other email servers, the same is true if its been sent by someone from a work address.

Theres nothing wrong as such, if you have an anti virus programm thats scanning all incoming email i wouldn't lose sleep over it.

I have a corporate logo and varios fonts in my signature on my e-mail. Some people receive an e-mail from me that includes an "attachement". If their e-mail is setup as text only the corporate logo is an attachement instead of being included in the body of the message.

in line pictures, signatures, avatars etc can show up as attachments. Have you tried sending your self a plain test emailto see if that shows up as having an attachment

I find it annoying too, I open emails to see someones attachment but all i find is some naff signwritten signature.
