The current mi 6174 v1 motherboard doesn't exist anymore and I need a replacement. Emachines doesn't offer any help for any newer mb replacement. Their customer support doesn't give any info on what to do. So.....This motherboard has onboard sound, video, ethernet 10/100, 3 PCI slots, No AGP, 4 USB with 2 more via front connection. Currently using 2.8 celeron and 120 gb hd. I don't need anything more than a computer to do some research online. No upgrading is needed. I would like to have a motherboard which will fit my casing. I think I have a mATX, but honestly I don't know for sure. I don't need a powersupply or anything like that, just mb.

the intel® Desktop Board D845GLVA should work. You may run into problems with the e-machine connectors for the lights and power on switch....good luck

pretty much anything that comes a specific manufacturer is proprietary. If you already contacted that manufacturer and found that they no longer support this model, or have any other recourse available, then then only other option is to get a different PC. I say this because if you try to do a motherboard swap on the same case, it has to be from the manufacturer, otherwise it won,t fit, or maybe it will , but something Else wont.
ATX cases are very cheap now, and I'm sure that you can find an ATX Planner Board that will support your CPU , like for instance an elite group motherboard.
