Because, if you flip it over it is a Left Triangle.
The words are used basically to give people understanding of what another is saying. If, someone says; "Draw a right triangle" everyone draws the same thing and not a left triangle.
In Electricity the "Theory" is Negative flows to Positive. IT could flow positive to negative, but, so people have some sense of agreement we all say Negative flows to Positive.
Hope you see what I try to say. It just has more to do with Communicating an Agreeable Understanding.

first off, if a right triangle had 90 degree angles it would be a square - going clockwise a line forming a triangle would only make right turns (he he)
