The emperor angel is a saltwater fish, isn't it? Are you sure that's what it is? I have kept angels off and on for 26 years and have not heard of a freshwater emperor angelfish...

If it is a freshwater angel, then the reason it is not growing is you are not doing regular (weekly) partial (25-30%) water changes. The tank size has nothing to do with it, the regular water changes have everything to do with it.

If you ARE doing regular water changes, it may be stunted due to not being fed properly when it was a baby or water changes were not done as it matured. There is no such thing as a dwarf angelfish...unless the growth was stunted by water conditions or not feeding properly.

You can increase its size somewhat even if it is stunted, but it will never attain full adult size.

The larger aquarium thing is just a myth you may need a larger aquarium because they need alot of space but that would not effect growth. what type of angel is it, if it is a dwarf then that might be the max size but if it is an emporer you may have a problem lemmie know what it is and ill help yea out

I've heard the size of the tank matters, you may need to upgrade to a larger size.
