Have a tailor or talented sewing friend take your actual measurments (bust waist hip height, at least). Then compare to the size chart for that specific gown. Do NOT go by conventional number sizes, or even rules of thumb like "buy one size bigger". If you're inbetween two sizes, go with the larger one, it's easier to take in a gown than to let it out.

I wore a Maggie Sottero dress and absolutely loved it. I'm overweight and the dress was slimming and flattering to my figure. I've seen other overweight brides that looked absolutely hideous in their wedding gowns. I wore diamond white because I have a medium complexion and dark hair. However, not everyone looks good in stark white. I feel that Maggie Sottero's dresses are really well made and flattering. I'm sure you'll look great in any of those dresses!

To be true size 8 you need to be 32 inches at the chest, so that is your bra size, and 28 in your belly. In UK that is the unreal size 6.

when you are ordering wedding dresses you should always order a size bigger than what you are.about a size 10 for you.
