My bill is due today, the money isn't wired into my account until the 30th (just seven days). When do you usually disconnect it?

I did call, they guy wouldn't tell me how long I had and couldn't give me an extension since I'm not a six month-long customer. (My payroll lady is the devil, she's made me wait two weeks longer for my check, so that means I have seven days to go..) I'm nice to her, she just hates me for some reason. lol

If you are a customer for less than 6 months, it is true that more than likely they will not give you a payment extension. THAT being said, if you have had it 4-5 months, you may be able to talk someone into doing it anyway. Reps are granted a little bit of leeway. It will also depend on your payment history. If you always pay on time, you have a better chance. If your payment is just due today, though, I wouldn't sweat it if you can make it in 7 days, unless there is a really, really compelling reason, Cingular doesn't interrupt any service before 10 days past due.
Also, for the record, the $36 charge is ONLY if your service is suspended, not if it is late. The late charge, depending on the state you live in, is either 1% of your total bill or a flat $5 fee. It will tell you on page 2 of your bill which one you are charged, and also it will tell you on page 1 when it is assessed. Also when you pay your bill next week make sure you pay online, on your phone, or in a Cingular store, then it will post to your account immediately.

They usually give you some extra time or until your bill reaches $150. But most of the time they do not disconnect your service, they just add $36 on the next bill.

They will charge you a late payment fee and then disconnect about 2 weeks after the due date if the payment is not received. But if you call them you can set up a payment extention date so you wont have to worry about it.

dont worry about it. you'll have more than enough time to pay it. the thing about cingular is that if you have 2 or more bills that are past due, at that point they will interrupt your service.......
