I have experience of doing this myself that I found very intense, as I could not help thinking – what people think about it? But there is a limit regarding amount of money involved after which everything become ok by everyone. Would you for example pick up a penny from ground, or would you only consider ten or twenty pence coin, or may be not. If not then will a brand new shining mint of a pound will do the magic. Or may be you are into currency notes. Whenever I, if ever, see a precious currency note lying on the ground, I find the glimpse as subtle as the sight of the skin of a snake lying in the grass; the only difference being I am more likely jump away from the later and jump at the former.

Or may be you are the one who would never do any such thing at any cost - a penny for your thoughts?

I know we all can be like scavenging rats at times, but don't we all like ravishing into speaking the truth even better :)

For penny's, not worth the effort but for anything above ...hmmm..one has to start to wonder at what height does you arrogance/ego start to show ? At what amount do you still think you are too good and couldn't be seen.A good question , one that makes you ask one or two to your self..thank you, I needed that..

Yes I would, but I hope no one else would. If everyone were to say "oh it's just a penny or a nickle or whatever" and pass it by that would allow me, the one person who picks up the coins, a very rich person. This is free money for me. I don't have to pay taxes on it, I don't really have to work for it. I have increased my personal income by how much I find. The more people who are apathetic to the coins, the richer I will become.

Pick up any penny on the ground if it is sitting "heads up" - that is lucky.

Never pick up a coin of any amount if it is sitting "tails up" that is unlucky.
About the only thing to do for these is turn them over so someone else will find them and have good luck.

Peace

I always pick up coins I find on the ground.... I've never even considered what other people might think. I just figure it's free money just for paying attention.

Although, I also pick up trash if I find it and throw it away properly. That makes me feel good, especially if the person who purposely dropped it is standing nearby because I hope they notice my good deed and are embrrassed about what they did.

It doesn't bother me at all to pick things up off the ground. I don't see it as dirty, I see it as taking care of our planet.

I would definitely pick up a coin, for two reasons:
1) To pick up trash in the street,
2) Because I can think about how it was dropped and the uselessness of money really, just as a reminder that money is meaningless without the value we attach to it.

Best regards,

I would leave a coin there in the hopes that a child would find it and pick it up. It would mean much more for a child to find the coin in terms of happiness than me.

It actually gives me a great feeling to think about a child finding the coin I leave there.

I would always pick it up. It is somebody's hard work, honest labour that made the coin possible. Lying there it may go wasted away, unnoticed ! And the situation would decide what I do further with it ! This way, I ensure I do not end up with any residual emotion, either way, with that act... !

I wouldnt pick up a penny if I was alone. If I was with someone else, I would pick it up and pass it on as a lucky penny.
If I saw upwards of 50p lying on the ground, I would pick it up and wouldnt care what people thought!

Definitely! It has nothing to do with the monetary value. It's the waste not want not theory. Remember, a penny saved is a penny earned. Besides, who cares what anyone else thinks!

I would for 10p or more. Anything less is pikey.

I tend to kick it first, as then I'm not going to fall for a joke. At my last place of work, the boys in one section had a great view of the street from their building. They welded a 50p coin to the pavement and laughed at anyone attempting to pick it up. I saw someone fall for it, so I've learn't his lesson for myself. It did make me laugh though!
