i just recently asked a question about the pledge and everyone asked me if i caused a disruption but i didnt i was sittin quitely in my seat when the pledge came over the intercom and then when it was done the teacher told me to get out for not sayin it and i told him that i wasnt goin to, so for people that read this question that had read the other one no i didnt disrupt anyone. Then they are goin to kick me out of school for 10 days or they said that they are doing to kick me out for good and i wouldnt graduate, im 18 and stuff, I also wanted to say that i dont say the pledge becuase i do not feel that i have to worship a falg everyday, I would like to know some facts if there is anyone that has any for me, i also would like to know what i should do. thank you very much,(if ur goin to tell me you hate me for not respecting the falg then dont answer my question thank you.)

Anyone who wants to disagree should read Thoreau's "Civil Disobedience", one of the major works of the American Revolutionary era.

If you want to fight this, I think you absolutely should, but you're likely not going to get far without your parents support.... or if that doesn't work, definitely try calling the ACLU, this is a flat-out violation of your civil rights. Do your research and write up a solid argument to present to the principal, school board, whoever you need to take it to. I know you are trying to type quickly here, but with grammar like that you're just going to get smacked down as a whiny smart-*** kid.

My son is 6 and I have taught him to remain seated and silent during the pledge if he doesn't feel like saying it. We discussed what the words mean and he understands on a basic level it is stupid to promise to be loyal to a flag, and he also understands this country does NOT stand for liberty and justice for all.
