Depends on location.
Being circumcised seems to be normal for american guys.
For British guys like myself, uncircumcised seems a little more normal, though I'm personally circumcised (for medical reasons)...
Countries which have prevalent religions requiring circumcision are likely to have that as the norm, whereas poor countries without said religious influence are more likely to have an overwhelming uncircumcised norm.
I'd say its more likely on the whole that the average male of the world is probably uncircumcised.... but thats just a general average. As I said it does depend entirely on location.

80% of all men in the world are unmutilated/uncut. The other 20% are primarily in nations that permit or even support infant mutilation, such as Israel and the US.
In the US, circumcism was very common throughout the 20th century as doctors thought it was a necessary surgery, required for proper hygiene. They never bothered to ask the other 80% of the world, of course.
Beginning in the later part of the 1980's and 1990's circumcism started falling out of favor in the US as the medical profession could no longer justify it as a medical procedure. Estimates are that only 50% of newborm males are now circumcised, compared to well over 90% average during the rest of the century.
So--you will eventually start to see a significant change towards uncut american males as they grow up, and the 50/50 ratio will likely continue to drop even more.

Only America routinely circumcises children for anything other than religious reasons. The two religious groups are Jews and Muslims. So 99% of the world's countries do NOT circumcise their men.
In America, infant circumcision reached a peak of 90% of newborns in 1965 (US Census Bureau) and that had dropped back to 65% in 2004. So in the US, although the numbers decline each year, there are still a majority of newborns circumcised.
As education increases about the loss of sexual sensitivity and the fact that circumcision has NO medical benefits (as stated by the American Medical Association and American Association of Paediatrics) the numbers will continue to decline.
To those above who believe there is a correlation between STDs or bad hygiene and circumcision - please CHECK the research! There are no studies showing these links. These are just old myths.

in the world their is way way more intact men. the USA is the only country that practices this for no real reason. obviously other countries do but for religious reasons. although the rates of men in America being circumcised at birth is dropping. the national rate is around 50/50 now. it does greatly depend on where one is located. the Midwest has a higher circ rate versus morel liberal areas such as new york, Washington, Oregon, California etc. in some of those areas the rate of intact men or boys is 60% or higher. it is finally beginning to phase out because it is no longer recommended by the American pediatric association because there is not enough or any real proven purpose medically speaking to perform it. so its become an issue of parents choice and some parents choose this because it was what was done to them (hard to admit what was done to you by loving parents might have been wrong). some people also still wrongly believe it is normal and some even think it has to be done. in Europe for example the circumcising rate is very low. Check out the links.. the first one has list of rates and the rest our about why its no longer popular.

Circumcision is not commonly practiced in the following countries......the majority of European countries, most Asian countries, and South American countries.
Countries and cultures that do practice circumcision as part of a religious belief or tradition are the Isrealis (Jewish Religion), the Muslims, many tribes and factions in Africa, also the in the Philipine islands. The United States falls under the category of countries practicing and preaching circumcision under the reasons of Health, Hygiene, and Aesthetics. The rest is left to personal belief and preference.
Best of Luck!

About 80% of the world's male population is uncircumcised. It varies greatly from country to country. In the US the rate of circumcision has dropped from nearly 90% to between 50-60% today. Circumcision is also widespread in parts of Africa, the Middle East, and parts of southwest Asia.

I am not circumsized and proud of it. It is natural and an awesome part of my body. It keeps the penis an internal organ as it should be. preserves sensitive. Good hygiene keeps as clean as any circumsized guy.

Nowadays it only is a religious matter and so, since only Judaism is claiming that mutilation, you can realize now if in the world the circumcised guys are more than the others normal men.

Alot of that depends on religion/belief of the parents of the child if they have them circumsized at birth or not. Also depends if the parents could afford it at the time.
My brother wasn't circumsized at birth as my parents didnt' have insurance and couldn't afford it at the time. Back then it was more expensive to have it done than it is now.
But in most of society it is the norm to have it done.

It depends on your nationality some religions or nationalities choose not to circumcise. I think if you are American then most men are circumcise for health and hygiene reasons. Children are done more often than not. Also they are done because it saves children and adults from looking different when they are forced to shower in front of other children or adults. Infections also runs high in people that are uncircumcised. My suggestion would be to be to circumcise it is a very simple procedure and it also can save allot or problems in the future. I take care of an elderly gentleman who is uncircumcised and right now we are trying to heal many sores that he has on his penis from not being circumcised. That area under the foreskin holds in moisture and cause an irritated area that is very painful. So if you are trying to decide to circumcise or not then I would definitely choose to do it.
