One of them came to my door the other day and gave me a pamplet entitled "The End of False Religion Is Near!". One of it's main points is the fact that false religions get involved in politics and support warfare and terrorism. I happen to agree with this and salute them! It's nice to know all religions are not into killing people.

I didn't say the JWS were the only religion that opposed warfare and terrorism but I wonder that, given the popes remark against the Iraq war, how can Catholics vote for a warrior president like Bush?

That is so weird- the Jehovah Witness's came by my house Saturday and gave me the same pamphlet. I happened to agree with all of what that pamphlet shared as well.
Religion has no place in politics
Politics are a secular affair and religion is of the spiritual realm
But I wonder what other aspects there might be to the Witness religion-

My Mom is 87yrs old & has volunteered some time
to share the message in that tract
(JW's are distributing it worldwide.)
Not a problem,she enjoys it,
but it's amazing how many
so-called Christians will show a
lack of respect for an elderly person,
who is taking only a few seconds of their
time. She does not take it personally, but I wonder how they sleep.
The tract is definately worth reading. Agape

that might hold some truth but you have to study for your self. the witness have a way for you to see there side. we can look at stories in the bible and see politics all in it. one example and it might not be a good one but look at David and Goliath. there was war. in the temple the tax collectors. the walls of Jericho and on and on. i think we ought to be trying to seek and save those that are lost to make this world a better place to live. No MATTER WHAT RELIGION YOU ARE

Jehovah's Witnesses are sometimes puzzled why other so-called Christians do not recognize God's Kingdom as a real government, and pledge their allegiance to His anointed King, Jesus Christ. Time is running out...

Jehovah's Witnesses understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite

That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.

Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire

While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]

Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind

The pope spoke out against the war. JoHos aren't the only ones...most religions espouse peace. Yes, even Islam.

I was raised Jehovah's Witness. They are the most judgmental, hypocritical people on the planet. They are one step away from being a cult. If they were truly non-political they wouldn't be pointing out how uninvolved they are.
