Is it true that you can't plant rubber tree plants outside?I have had mine inside for about 2 years now and have had to put in a big deep plastic tub and it is getting huge.I was told that if I plant it outside that it will not survive.Is that correct?

It depends on where you are. They are tropical trees, & cold will kill them.

Oh gee, mine's been outside in the ground for maybe seven years now. If I knew that you cant plant them outside, I wouldn't have. I figure thats where they had to come from. By the way, it's bigger than the house.One thing, they can't take the frost. So you need to cover it if it gets real cold where you live.

It is not correct. You can plant rubber tree in outside soil.In Kerala,it is a common cultivation.

They grew outside for millions of years before people were here to take them inside, so yes, they can live outside. They cannot, however, live outside where you have cold winters.
