You mean so that you can get suspended, expelled or possibly prosecuted for hacking? It's turned out that way before, so for your own protection, don't even try to mess with a school computer. Instead, find a freebie or two and build a couple of systems of your own. Below are a couple of practical suggestions to accomplish that on not much, if any, money.

1). Write to or contact in another polite manner a few businesses that have fairly large IT departments. They are upgrading all the time and as a result have complete systems that are sometimes hauled off as trash. Offer to pick up a few and reduce their trash bill. They may just take you up on that, so be sure and have happy homes, the cooperation of any parents involved and a way to collect the goodies in a timely fashion.

2). Check out pawn shops and / or flea markets. They occasionally have the odd system that has gotten to old to sell for anything that becomes a freebie. Flea markets also may have odd ball parts for $1 a piece or less ( I've seen fifty cents for a medium box of assorted stuff, about 70% useful to some extent ).

3). Keep an eye on your nearest town or city listings on craigslist.org. You occasionally get lucky with a freebie or five listed for the "come and pick it up" crowd.

Once you have the parts assembled, if there isn't an operating system with it, PCs can quite happily use a version of Linux that you can get free and legal off the Internet.

I hope this can dissuade your computer messing with itch, as the messing with a school computer thing can get very, *VERY* messy. If you have a machine of your own, what you do to it (and it alone ) is pretty much your decision.

Open Terminal, from Applications-> Utilities-> Terminal

You can create a folder from the command line with the mkdir command. If the folder you create has a name starting with a period (.) character, it will be invisible. So to make a directory called ".secret' you just type in the command
mkdir .secret
It will not show up in the Finder or in normal Terminal listings. To see it, instead of the normal list command
ls
you need to use the -a switch:
ls -a
to remove the directory, there are two options:
rmdir .secret
(which will fail if there is anything in the .secret directory) or
rm -rf .secret

To get more information about these commands, use the man command (for 'manual'). To learn about mkdir, type
man mkdir
and to learn about ls, type
man ls

no longer likely. of course i haven't been impeding their fulfillment, and that they hadn't mine. it extremely is worth asking given which you're relatively curious, once you're asking just to kill time, then no.

You can't use your school laptop for non-school stuff.
