Part of it is the political world in which we currently live. Admitting to having made a mistake while in office is seen by the pundits as weakness rather than strength. It opens up all sorts of opportunities for your political enemies to attack in more strength. So most national politicians rarely admit to making policy mistakes.

He can't admit that he made it mistake because it would mean saying that the war was a mistake and he doesn't want to admit that his mistake caused the death of many innocent people. He had already stated that the troops wont be home while he is in office. That shows me that he has no intention on ever admitting to his mistake and that he has no regards for human life as long as he gets his "point" across. I hope and pray that he realizes his mistake and brings our troops home before more lives are lost.

He's too f**king stupid and arrogant to even realize that he's made a mistake. That's why! No matter how much he f**ks up, he'll always think that he's doing the right thing, and he'll always have Dick, Condi, and Rummy cheering him on.

Assumption: The President made a mistake. How's about telling us what this "mistake" is so we can debate it first. THEN worry about admitting anything.

No he can't! He's the republican version of the pope (speaking directly to God), and thus he has the same papal infallibility as the pope.
