defragging your computer will do nothing to change that message not sure why that person suggested that. it is also not a virus problem. this simply means you dont have enough RAM for all the things you are trying to do at the same time.
i will explain how to do it but just so you know it would be more beneficial for you to add more RAM than to increase your virtual memory.

to increase the virtual memory do the folowing
In the Control-Panel, select the System icon (or right-click "My Computer" on the desktop and select Properties)

Select the tab: "Advanced" and then in the section "Performance" the button "Settings".
In the Window "Performance Options", use the tab : "Advanced"

In the section "Virtual Memory", the system shows the total size
of the Paging file, which you can increase with the "Change" button.

When your computer runs out of RAM it uses a portion of your hard disk as virtual RAM. This is called virtual memory. You can adjust this setting by:

1. Select control panel from start menu
2. Open system(double click system icon)
3. Click on Advanced tab
4. Click on setting tab in Performance
5. Click on advanced. You will see a virtual memory section there.
6. Click change
7. You will see a small selectable option there, which says "system managed size" Select that and click "set"
8: Select ok all the way back.

Now your system will run out of virtual memory if your harddisk is running low on free space. You can check this by selecting your disk drive in windows explorer (C: or D:), right click and select properties. You should have atleast 500 Mb. free space. It is good if there is more free space.

virtual memory is space on your hard drive that is used to temporarily write and move files around if you are getting message virtual memory is low then you have 3 solutions delete/remove any unnesscary files or upgrade your hard drive to a larger one or install a second hard drive you can use for storing files on doing the latter will mean you wont need to reinstall windows or any other progs/games etc that you have on your pc and you can move stuff/files over to other just like a floppy. its relatively easy to install a second hard drive but wouldnt recomend it if you have not done it before if you know some one who is reasonably competent on pc upgrades get them to help. or leave it into your nearest pc repair/upgrade shop.

Get more RAM or clear some space on your Hard Disk.
And try shutting down unnecessary programs.
