every time I restart my computer the Yahoo IM pops up and slow down my system. I only want to to load when I need it.

click start - go to run - type msconfig
click startup tabs - uncheck ypager - which is the IM for yahoo
then done

when you want the IM pop up just double click the IM shortcut

If you go into Tools and Options, then uncheck the "Open Yahoo Messenger when Windows starts" check box, it will stop it opening.

I'm not sure this is exactly correct as I'm not on the home pc, but hopefully you get the idea (it might be Preferences, not options for example).

Ok you need to go the the prefreences and their is already a box checked that says start IM when windows starts un check that box and this will prevent it from loading by it self.

go to your "control panel" on start up unclick the im program and it will not load on start up or reboot
