If you want to transfer from p.c. to p.c. and you have Win Xp on of them there is a program called FAST (Files and Settings Transfer Wizard). This program along with the approriate cable is the easiest way. You don't provide enough info for a step by step instruction.

What Pappy offers is best for a small number of files, what I offer is best for a huge number of files

follow these steps:
1. Make sure that the hard disk is set to Slave. Check out the jumper settings of Slave HD on the hard disk itself.
2. mount the hard disk on the PC.
3. start the pc, it should automatically detect the hard disk upon boot up.
4. explore My Computer and you will find another drive which represents the hard disk that you plugged.
that's it....just locate the file and copy.

The contents of your hard disk are on your pc.

If you mean the contents of another pc, the easiest way is burn them to disk and load the disk into your pc.
