In the world cup game Italy-Germany, who thinks that it is all Lehmann's fault that Germany lost? Germany had a good defence the whole game and in the final second they screwed everything up. When Grosso striked the ball, Lehmann was standing on the wrong end of the goal. He tried to jump but it didn't help him. The second goal just went in because the Germans were shocked and depressed to be down 1-0. The German defence didn't do a great job on these plays either. No offense to the Italian team, I am not trying to detract from their greatness. I understand that football is a team game and you can't point fingers at the end of the day.

I don't think you can blame Jens for that loss. It would be just as easy to blame the defenders and ask "Where were they?". That was a great match and the goals were superb, as was the German sides efforts that day. It was simply a lapse in concentration and in a game of such high quality that is sometimes all it takes.

Lehmann was stellar for 119 minutes. Grosso's goal was well placed as well as Del Piero's goal. Germany missed some great opportunities to score early in the game. They just missed it. Lehmann's positioning in defense of both goals was great. The shots had to be well placed and they were. It is sad that one team had to lose... Both teams played so well but Italy earned this win.

I wouldn't say it was the Lehmann's fault. I think it was the whole teams fault. They couldnt stop the ball from going to Fabio Grosso and they couldnt block it so that's what happens!
But Italy deserved it no doubt about it!

I don't think it was all Lehmann's fault. He did really good picking up the slack from the defense. He was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. I really wish they would've won, Miroslav Klose is the best!!
