Less than 5% of gays even want it. It's simply a political football. So many laws and other issues would have to be changed to accommodate same-sex legal benefits that it makes no sense for 5% of 5% of the US population.
All marriage benefits should be voided imo. Then, a system that is not based on who you have sex with should be installed where one person is named your designated caretaker. This person should have all the benefits currently attributed to marriage, but could be a friend, family member or spouse. That way, we solve the whole problem and the 5% of gays that want marriage for themselves would have to shut up and the nutcases who want to deny it to them will have to shut up, too.

I cannot tell you what is wrong with gay marriage. I can tell you what is right. I am a heterosexual who falls in love and have intimate feelings and intimate relationships. Well homosexuals fall in love and have intimate feelings and intimate relationships also right? Well when couples exibit the signs of intimacy, love, healthy relationships that will grow, and they want a future together they get married right no matter who they are same sex, different sex. Be happy and do not worry about the next couple. Chances are they may be unhappy.
Why are people so quick to bring up the bible when it comes to gay marriage and not to other issues like when they commit adultery, stealing and embezzling, lying and killing, the art of con, having children and not being married, manipulating systems of politics, etc... Where were these same people when there was racism, and mass genocide, and slavery. What happens to the bible and God then, better yet what happens to their morals, values and all. It gets thrown out the window. People are changing, the world is changing yesterdays norms and values are not the same. Focus on love and honor, loyalty and trust, and the future. Live life, laugh often and love all.

There isn't anything really "wrong" with gay marriage; there are just some things which people don't agree with:
1) religious - most religions think homosexual behavior is a sin, thus marriage between two men or two women is a sin since they should "lay" with each other.
2) legal - some people believe that marriage is something between a man and a woman, when these two marry, they receive benefits that "single" people do not qualify for. When two men or women marry, they receive these same benefits, even though their marriage isn't a traditional one.
Personally, I have nothing against homosexuals or their "want" to be married with each other. But there are extremists out there who think differently...(see; George Bush).

I personally don't see anything wrong with it, I'm not gay but I do think that if the shoe was on the other foot people wouldn't be so closed minded. How would it be if a man and women were looked at like they look at gays. I grew up thinking that if you love someone you love them no matter what. Guess what I am saying is there is nothing wrong with it.

It is not a question of right or wrong.
"Gay" marriage is like leasing a house but saying that you have a mortgage. It is just not possible. A mortgage and a lease are not the same thing.
You can file and sign papers and have all of the same protections. But it is not a marriage.

I think gay marriage is wrong because men and women have been getting married for hundreds of years and i dont think its right to break that tradition. Like the Romans did they were married to women but they also did have gay relations with men but never married and i think we should preserve that

Nothing, except for the fact that the narrow-minded bigots keep outlawing it.
Why do people keep insisting that marriage is only a Religious thing?!? God has nothing to do with the LEGAL institution of marriage. If he did, then Atheists couldn't get married.

Its unnatural for people of the same sex to be married or even together at that. Like it or not but God and his laws are a big part of people. It says in the bible that being a homosexual is a sin and your blood is on your own hands. I know alot of people dont believe in God but the way I see is this. I'd rather live my life for God then die and find out he didnt exist then to live my life without Him and find he did.

I see nothing wrong with it. There are a lot of people who are scared of what they dont understand so they throw the Bible and God into it.
