I don't really like drinking water but I'm giving up drinking flavoured sweet soda. Is drinking soda water ok if I want to lose weight?

Try a good water & add lemon to it. No sugar, just a hint of lemon or lime. It is good & refreshing & good for your system. Lemon clears mucus from your system when you are losing weight it is good for you.

Technically no. Soda has sodium or salt in it and will make you retain fluids. Seltzer has no salt but the carbonation in it can make you lose bone mass. I too get very tired of even artificially sweetened drinks and throw caution to the wind and drink flavored seltzer water anyway. Just be aware that it can cause damage. I drink ice tea without any sweetener most of the time during the day when caffeine won't bother me. The tea has some properties that are suppose to be good for you and doesn't have the calcium reducing tendencies.

If you are trying to lose weight, you can still drink sodas flavoured with Splenda which has little or no calories.

As for alternatives to Soda, there are several drinks on the market that are sugar free and low calorie/low carb drinks. I like buying flavor aid (kool Aid) and I add granular Splenda to it ... low calorie and tastes great.

Soda causes your stomach to bloat. Lay off the soda and you'll notice a difference in your weight.

Soda water is better than soda, but (even though you don't want to hear it) plain water is best.

Carbonated beverages of any kind, I heard, reduces your blood count which can lead to unhealthy problems. It also might cause you to gain weight instead of losing it.
