Pray for him everyday. Stay connected with email and send him some nice things in the mail that will remind him of home. Don't show him your fear. Support him.

i know exactly what you're going through. my ex fiance (who is now a very good friend of mine, my daughter's godfather, and married to one of my best friends) was just deployed for iraq a couple months ago, and it's devestating for all of us. he's already toured afganistan and pakistan, and once he's done in iraq, he's being sent back to afganistan again. it's completely understandable that you're depressed about this, but you've got to keep your head up for him. the best thing that you can do for him is to be strong. of course, everyone fears the worst, but it's not going to do anybody any good by dwelling on it. whenever you talk to him, over phone calls or emails, make sure that everything you tell him is something positive, don't ever give him any reason to worry about what's going on at home, he's got enough to deal with as it is. always tell him how excited you are for his safe arrival back home, and all the fun things you're going to do once he gets back. email him lots of happy pictures of everyone he loves. as for your feelings, it would be good for you to talk to someone about this, like a mutual friend or family member, just don't tell him. best of luck, i hope he comes home safe!

I know its scary, but don't think like that.
Just pray for him, write him, send him care packages to let him know you're thinking about him.

And whenever I was sad, I'd just dream about the day he would walk through the door and I would grab him and hug him so tight. Hope this helps, good luck hun!

Well, you can't live your life worrying about what life has to offer or what might or could happen.

Please be cheerful for him and don't anticipate.

If you both are unattached, I think showing him your affection would both ease your depression and give him some memories to sustain him while he is gone.

Talk to him and tell you that you care. Also write him letters that way you know you made his day not matter the outcome. I hope he gets home safe.

I'm sorry. That sucks. Just have hope that he'll return home safely.
