It's because it's in Alphabetical order....the song came after.

No, it's not to do with the song. I always remembered the tune for my maths tables but it never helped me remember the words. The answer is simple: the letters are ordered alphabetically. Don't believe me? Look them up in a dictionary.

i think the song was probably made up after it was decided it would be in that order.
