My boyfriend went into the hospital this weekend (was released the same day) and never called to let me know- in fact didn't return any of my calls all weekend. I just found out this morning. He claims to love me and plans on marrying me, but I feel this was a total lack of consideration on his part. I'm not saying this is all about me, but I was worried all weekend about him. Is this normal male behavior or do I have a right to be upset? We haven't even had a chance to talk so he could explain why he didn't call me. If this happens with a relatively minor event, what will happen when something serious occurs?(PS: In case you're wondering, He's not seriously ill, just has to make some lifestyle adjustments)

I think you have a right to be upset as you were worried. Talk it over with him, but don't shout, just say you were really hurt that he did not even think to let you know what was going on, hopefully he will be man enough to apologise profusely.

There are two things a relationship need to survive, communication, and respect. He might of been too sick to call you in the hospital, but when he go out there was no excuse. Try to get his point of view and let him know how you feel about the situation. He might of not even been in the hospital. You have every right to be upset, but don't let is consume you OK. Ask questions then maybe a month or so down the line if somthing like this happens again ask the same question and remind him of the situation to see if you get the SAME ANSWER. When you ask him don't go in detail of his last answer. CHECK IT OUT!!!!!

You probably have the right, but it is pretty comon male behavior. Men are so used to worrying about themselves first and have a hard time getting used to the idea of carring for someone else. This usually comes with time and maturity. It was pretty inconsiderate of him, but unfortunately it is common most men are inconsiderate. try not to take it too personal, he will grow up and mature eventually.

yes, u huv the right to feel upset/mad, but u should ask him first why he didnt call u nor answers ur calls.. ask him nicely about things that bothers u and also tell him what u think and feel about what his doing to u...i hope things will be alright.. goodluck

hhmm.. if u feel hes taking u for granted.. then talk about it with him.. if he still do it.. means he doesnt really love u.

Lifestyle? I think you should look seriously for another BF, particularly since he was not eager to see you this weekend.

Maybe he was embarrased and did not want to call you. But you should talk to him about this, you have a right to be upset, but try not to get mad until you hear his reasons.

I don't believe that he was at the hospital. Tell him that you want to see the papers. If he won't let you. Dump him. Then you will know for sure if he's lying or not. Nobody wants to be with a liar.

Communication and consideration are obviously not his good points..and you would consider marrying him why?? Not a good idea..without communication the marriage will not last... move on..

you have every right to be upset but you dont have to be mad with him since you dont know why he didnt call or return your calls yet, let him know how you feel and what it did to you.
