because California sits on top of the San Andreas faultline, which violently moves every ten or so years. California is overdue another large earthquake by 2 years, I believe. Florida does not sit on a faultline, however there are many sinkholes, which can suddenly appear in the ground and swallow anything on top and around them. This is why most Floridian homes have Sinkhole Insurance.

Because of the San Andreas fault line. Earthquakes occur close to fault lines and there are none close to Florida.

It is all their fault

Seriously, California lies on the boundary of two plates. These plates move against each other, build up tension, and periodically release it, causing earthquakes.

Florida is almost entirely built of runoff and is very flat. Given the nature of its soil, and the fact that buildings are probably not built earthquake safe, a large earthquake there would likely cause massive death and destruction.
