Yesterday, instead of buying a larger bike rack to fit an emergency kit & place to store a tarp, I drilled one of my old tackle boxs onto a my current bike rack.

It must be in my genes. My grandma (who grew up in the depression) would take strap metal and wood and makes storage sheds out of them

I cut a hole in a clean dish soap bottle and put all my extra change in it to save for spending money for a trip. While on the plane I opened it with great fanfare from the other three couples and my husband (yes, you could haul stuff like that on a plane awhile back) and I had over three hundred dollars! It was not all change. My husband had stuffed three fifties in there as a surprise.

More frugally, I used to wash Zip loc bags and re use them. When my husband and I were first married we had orange crates as end tables and night stands and made a book case stacking cinder blocks with old planks of wood for the shelves.

For me, take food into a movie theater. But a friend of mine once put soap on his car before driving it to the car wash so he would not have to pay for soap when he got there!

Not funny, really, more pathetic. When our washer broke down I'd wash clothes for me my husband and our three children in the bathtub. Thank God those days are over. (I have a different husband now)

Oh, goodness! Let's see....
I've used blankets as curtains, I've saved butter bowls to use as regular bowls.....the list goes on and on. Most of this was done when I was younger and just out on my own. But even now, I'm poor, so I do whatever I can!♥
