It is too easy to take a plea bargain., which in the end sends innocent people to jail and gives guilty people shorter sentences just to expedite the justice system. I know a man that was told the state was going to give him 60 years (for a crime anyone that knows him, knows he did not commit), but if he would plea bargain they would give him probation. He has 2 more years probation.

I saw a special news report on this recently. As a result of forensic science there were a large number of inmates on death row who were proven to be innocent and eventually set free. I don't remember the exact statistics but the number was alarmingly high. We have too many overzealous prosecuters who will take weak circumstantial evidence and with their expertise and experience will twist it around to fit the crime. Human life has a lower priority than their own personal gains.

Don't you know, everyone in jail is innocent. Just ask them.
I have always wondered who is committing all the crimes if only the innocent are jailed?

Short of going into a dissertation of how attorneys cost too much, or attorneys provided for indigents are inneffective, or attorneys just "plea" their clients to make the "quick buck" or any other of the myriad of problems with the court systems, individually, and collectively...

Since 97% (or so) of criminal cases plea out - because the (innocent) criminal pled to a lesser crime (to avoid trial or potential lengthier sentence)

The system is not infallible. A more important question is why so many guilty people are out of jail.

Becuase Jails are increasingly owned by private companies, which in turn have lobbyists working in D.C. to make sure the money keeps rolling in.

ISNT THAT GREAT?

Funny, but I never met an innocent person that had been to jail.

Perhaps you give them too much credibility?

Blame the lawyers involved in the case & the unfair judge!

Because they dont have good lawyers, they never know if the judge/jury are fair, and sometimes discrimination.
