Hey I'm 10 1/2 weeks pregnant. I am wondering if there are any old wives tales or other things that can help determine the sex of the baby. I know you can't totally believe all of that stuff but I just wanna know for the fun of it. :)

Carry high, girl... low, boy...
Watermelon shaped, girl.... basketball, boy
sweet foods, girl.... salty, boy
easy to no morning sickness, girl... bad morning sickness, boy
I dunno... I am having a boy, had really bad morning sickness, mostly want salty foods (especially mcd's fries) and I am now a basketball shape... it all depends on the person though, most people say that these dont work,... and I didnt count on anything until the ultra sound...

There is no real way to tell the sex of the baby. Some say you can tell by when you had sex the position etc...Also some say when you are further along like 6 months depend on if the baby is positioned high or low it might be a boy or girl. Realistically there are too many factors in determining the sex. Ultra sound is the best way, but two things can happen here. Some doctors don't believe in telling the sex of the baby and the baby needs to be in the right position to see what sex it is...

I have 2 boys and a baby girl. And I can tell you the ONLY difference I noticed was the heartbeat! My boys were in the lower 140's and my baby girl was in the 160's. I knew I was having a girl! As far as Morning sickness, lol BLAH! I had TERRIBLE morning sickness with my second son AND with my baby girl, more like "All day sickness" so thats a False statement! I didn't carry them any different either. I can tell you this, Dh and I did the needle on the pencil eraser thing, and it said "Girl" every time!!! I know how anxious you must be, but you'll just have to wait until your u/s and what ever you do, DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE WE DID AND DO AN EARLY U/S, THEY DO NOT WORK!!! We had an u/s at 16 1/2 wks -17 wks and the tech said 100% boy, lol, even showed us the pic of his penis, well he was was WRONG!!!!! So, early u/s don't work! Good luck to ya:)

If your left breast is bigger than the right during pregnancy, you're having a girl. If the right is bigger, it'll be a boy. If they are the same size, you're in for a surprise!
If you get moody during pregnancy you are more likely to have a girl. This is because all women are moody, and when carrying a girl you become doubly so.
If you carry the baby out front (others can't see your pregnancy from behind) then you will have a boy. If others can tell that you are pregnant when looking at you from behind, then you will have a girl.
Have the mum-to-be pick up a key. If she picks it up by the round end, it will be a boy. If she picks it up by the long end, it will be a girl. Should she pick it up at the middle, twins are on the way.
If you dream of girls, you will have a boy. If you dream of boys, you will have a girl.

there are so many and they're all conflicting
eg. the morning sickness - i had a boy and no morning sickness at all.
also - they say if you look wonderful during pregnancy = boy - if you look washed out a girl (coz girls steal your beauty)
savory food = boy - sweet food/fruit = girl
basketball shape tummy = boy watermelon shape = girl

Tie string to a ring; hold it over your wrist. if it starts going side to side the child is a girl. But if it goes in circles, then you are carrying a boy. BUT, if it goes side to side, then stops,& goes round & round you are carrying twins. (The string should be about 8-10 long.)

well when your 4 months or 5 the doctor will give you an ultrasound and will tell you what your baby is?
