They have to because someone buy a late ticket and can come in, like 10 mins into the movie, and then they need to have it running.

At the theater I currently work for, we run every movie on time whether there is some one watching or not. It gives us time to make any needed adjustments that no one will see and it also gives us a chance to make sure everthing in the projector is running smoothly and properly. Plus it helps us to find scratches, flaws, cuts, and any other marks that may be on the film.

Well not so long ago I arrived early for film and heard some noise coming the room, I thought they had started it early and entered but it was the end of the film and there was no one in there. I left straight away coz I didn't want the ending spoiled. So my answer is yes they still show it and I have seen it in action.

I'd go with yes, I mean I saw the remake of 'Fog' which sucked totally by the way and it lasted about a week in the theater so....on the other hand movies like 'Pirates of the Caribbean 2 : Dead man's chest' just kept going for months...

no. we arrived late to a movie one time and they wouldn't sell us a ticket because no one was in the theatre so they didn't show it. They claim they have to keep things on time so they couldnt start it 10 min late.

it wouldn't make sense to show it if no one's going to be there to see it... waste of electricity!

i wonder sometimes how some cinemas are still in business when there's usually only a handful of people in the cinema on some days!
