Because laws about sex are not decided in terms of evolutionary similarities, or even the potential for breeding successfully.
Laws about sex are generally created for 2 reasons:
1. To control women and make sure they remain the property of men.
2. To interfere with basic instincts for religious mind control

I have heard of woman having sex with horses and dogs, and down under, men having sex with sheep. Does that make it right? I wonder. It's my opinion that people who do those things are seriously deranged and are unable to have a normal relationship with another person. I also suppose the reason that people don't have sex with apes is because they are intelligent enough to object and rip your head off!!!!

Animals cannot communicate their consent or non-consent.
Plus it would be an interference with the natural world, which is quite a separate entity to the world of man.

I didn't think that it was against the law - it is if done in a public place, or if the animal is unwilling, in which case you would be done for cruelty.
