He suffered a neck injury and could have played, but would have risked becoming paralyzed. He decided his family was worth more to him than playing football. Not only was he one of the greatest defensive players in the NFL, he's also pretty smart too.

He was injured, his neck was getting hammered, so he retired. Now he has a real estate business in College Station, TX (home of the Texas A & M fightin' Texas Aggies).

He had to retire a couple of years ago, after the effect of so many injuries had beaten up his body. I think he also had some sort of neck inury that would have gotten worse if he had played. He was small for a linebacker, so he really had to give everything he had and it just took its toll on his body. Too bad, he was fun to watch.

I didn't realize he retired. He was a good player. Didn't he have like 40 tackles in one game in college?

He retired at the end of last season.

He had to retired because of injuries...which sucks because he was awesome@!
