It depends on the nature of our death.
Generally, i think the spirit passes on to the next world, next phase. The body is disposed of, but he person lives on. They are able to make contact with the living world, but are not bound to it
Sometimes, people's passage from life is so traumatic, they get lost. they don't realsie they they are dead, and the world revolves around them just replaying those last moments on and on.
sometimes, something in between - the person passess from life and looses the way - they dont realsie they are dead and then its too late or they have something they need to finish off. they are bound to the world of the living, but only untill they are able to complete something, then they pass on to the other side

It's a tough one and depends on your own outlook on life. For example, people who believe in God say that there is a heaven and thats where you could go once you die. I find th esubject really interesting as it has been shown that the brain activity in the moments of actual physical death, can still be active if only for a few seconds or less.
So there is a possibilty we experience something when we die?
What that is I do not know but I hope it will be a long time before I have to find out for myself!

I would like to believe in an afterlife, if only to ask my Mum and Dad whether they wanted either my sister or myself to get the welsh dresser that used to be in the kitchen.
According to Kurt Vonnegut in Slaughterhouse 5, all there is is a purple hum. Nothing else, just a purple hum.

The certainty is our bodies become worm food. The uncertainty is what happens to consciousness. Does it go on or end? People are a lot happier in life if they believe it goes on.

I believe that we all go somewhere really special to the individual and everyone that you have ever had a special bond with, parents, loved ones, famous people who have influenced your life are all there waiting for you.
I really, really believe that there must be something after life and this is perfect and what I believe in.

when we die our bodies rot and decompose!! If your asking where do we go (e.g. heaven, hell) i think we just become wondering spirits and if we wont we have a choice. we can relive in animals or another human beings or go to heaven or do whatever we want!!

Our bodies rot. But our spirit, which is part of our energy lives on I believe. Dying will end the lives we live now, but a new form of life begins.

I believe we live on in spirit, we go on to a place called paradise. We live with loved ones who have gone on before us and we know only peace and love. Thats what I believe it helps me get through my days, I have to believe that I will see my mum and dad again in another life, I miss them both so much especially my beautiful mum. It is just my way of coping with their loss.

Nothing happens after we die. It is the end of stuff happening to us. Death is the last thing that will ever happen to you.
