From personal experience, I have lived in Florida for the better part of 20 years. December is an EXCELLENT month for coming to the state, on vacation (on holiday, as Brits may say).
The weather, in December is dry: the rainy season (and Hurricane Season) is over. And, the air humidity is lower, too--with the accompanying benefit of not sapping your energy, nor affecting any seasonal allergies a person may have.
The state of Florida can almost be said to have three distinct climate zones--from North to South--with the cooler temps. in the North and the more semi-tropic temperatures in the extreme South (including Key West, at the most-southern end).
I am in the central part of the state: the same part as Orlando, on the East, and Tampa, on the Gulf Coast.
December temperatures get into the low 70s (Fahrenheit)--which is 22 degrees C.--for a day-time high, during this month. Combined with the dry air, this is really comfortable weather. You can expect a lot of beautiful sunshine, as this goes along with the state nickname:
The Sunshine State
P.S: Orlando is, on the whole, a more progressive city than Tampa. But, to Tampa's credit, it is undergoing a lot of suburban development in a new and growing part of the city, on the North side, aptly named "New Tampa".

I am a Natural Floridian........
In the month of Dec. the weather here is an average high of 89degrees and a low of 62 degrees. If you plan to go to any attractions Nov., Dec., & Ja. are the best times to go being that there aren't that many people here. Unless you are coming during a special event at any Theme Park. So come on down and enjoy the fun and sun, before it gets too hot here.

As you asked in the Orlando slot, I presume you mean southern Fla. In the south, you'll have mild temperatures, but with occasional torrential rains...and hurricanes are in season as well. If you are headed way south, the Keys and Miami will hit the 70's regularly.
But Fla is a long, north-south state. In its panhandle, near Alabama, it can get quite cold. It's been known to freeze around Pensacola for example. In 1959, while I was there, the highs reached only in the 30 deg F range for several days.

decrease to mid Nineteen Seventies. I jumped in the pool very last year and it replaced into tolerable. Tanning is hit or miss because it is conceivable throughout that element of year yet takes a lengthy time period when you consider that our hemisphere is angled faraway from the sunlight in wintry climate.

I live in Orlando and have lived in other parts of FL for 11 yrs. I would say if you are from up north, not cold. Its about 50-65. Its nice and cool but not cold (to most) and its sunny most of the time. So it feels warmer. Enjoy your visit or stay.
