my doctor told me i have better than 20/20 vision.what might this be?

20/20 vision is just average. better than 20/20 is better than average.
I have better than 20/20 vision as well.
I have 20/10.
Just means you have better vision than average.

I agree with the above, the term 20/10 means that you can see at 20 feet what others can see at 10 feet. This is related to how your eyeball is shaped.

However, people who have 20/10 or 20/15 can be farsighted, and especially as they get older have trouble seeing things at a close range. They eventually need reading glasses to see things at an arms length, but they have no trouble driving.

20/10 is the best, as far as I know.

I forget precisely what it means... but I believe its that you can see what most people see from 10ft away at a distance of 20ft... etc...
That would put 20/20 at original "average" ... though the number of people wearing contact lenses and glasses these days would imply that the overall quality of vision has degraded (hardly surprising given how much time is spent by the average person in front of computer screens and / or televisions).

20/20 means that things that are 20 feet away, look like they are 20 feet away. 20/10 means that things that are 20 feet away, you can see them as if they were only 10 feet away.
