What were the differences between the Japanese original and the English dub? I know some eps were cut out but which ones?

What were the changes?

I do not know which particular episodes had been cut. I do believe the last season was cut (Sailor Moon: Sailor Stars??) Because it was too complicated to explain to the general ( meaning those who really wouln't understand/appreciate) American audience. The Sailor Stars series included men who transformed into women sailor soldiers and a barenaked Sailor Moon at the end of the series. We have seen a lot of name changes as well....the American 'Serena' is actually named Usagi in the Japanese version.

The DIC or Saturday morning version is a much milder than the original Japanese version. For example, Zoisite (depicted as female in the american version) is actually male. Rei's grandfather is clearly a perverted old man in the Japanese version, DIC tried to hide this. There is also the famous Sailor Neptune and Uranus 'thing' , depicted as cousins in the American version, they are actually lovers.

Certain scenes, even small ones were cut. Any hint of violence was practically cut for the American version. Scenes like Usagi's bath, in which DIC (or whoever) raised the tub's water level to hide her cleavage. The transformation sequences have less detail as well, to hide the appearance of breasts, I guess....

The American version pushes the importance of love and friendship, and ends it with 'Sailor Says' the little moral of the story. This was all done because Americans are a little more uptight when it comes to things like this. They had to make the show as mild as possible for little eyes.

There is no official English Dub of the uncut version of Sailor Moon.

Alright, besides the obvious language difference, there ARE several changes. For one,, I don't know if anyone else's caught this, but in many of the episodes, small parts are cut out in the English version unlike the Japanese. Then there's the issue of a couple episodes per Arc (season) or so that are deleted in the English version, whereas in the Japanese they have them all. And of course there is the issue of the final season not being dubbed. I was really mad to find out that they hadn't dubbed the Sailor Stars Arc, so I had to watch it subbed, but it wasn't bad. Sad at some points and funny at others, but it was good, though I wish there was a little more to it... Bah! I hoped this helped! I've loved Sailor Moon ever since I was three/four!

The Japanese version had some nudity in a few episodes and is kind of more violent. I have seen it.
日本語版に少数のエピソードで裸体像があり、ちょっとより激しい。私はそれを見た。
