find out from your son what his administrative log-on password is and the when u find it out enter it when you log-on and also use his log-on name. Onnce you know and complete this go into My cOMPUTER and click Control Panel then users and passwords and set-up a Uuser name and password for urself and be sure to give urself administative priveledges then once you have administrative privledges u can download messenger

Which account is set up to be the administrator? You are obviously not logging in to the admin account. You can change the account setup by logging in to the main account, then go to the start menu - select control panel - then select user accounts - select the account that you want to change and set it as an administrator account.

OR

you can just install Yahoo Messenger on the account that you currently log in to.

Good luck.

It is most likely that your son set himself as an admin and set restrictions for any other users. One way would be to look under users in the control panel and see who is who. If it is only you then you have blocked Yahoo somehow and will need to reinstall windows. Anyways, if your son is there and it says something like (admin user) next to him then you need your son to remove himself. If that is not a option for you then have windows reinstall ontop of itself. Depending on how much you know you might want someone else to do that. One wronge choose in setup and you can kiss all your files goodbye!

That meens you're signed in to Windows as a limited user. Change your account to Administrator in Control panel and it will work.
