Wash the gravel well to remove any debris and dust. Place the gravel in the base of the tank and put a dish or plate on top of it. Place the hose from the tap on o the plate and add the water slowly.
This is so the gravel ois not washed about by the stream from the hose. You can also fill the tank with buckets so that the water falls onto the plate.

Take a strainer and run hot water through the gravel to get the drit and dust off. It could make your water cloudy and even kill your fish if you dont. Then put about 1 1/2- 2 inches of the gravel in the tank. Then put your clean water in and spread gravel to even out with your hand.

first you need to clean the gravel out in ruining water this will take out any dust or small particles that are in the water next you should put it in your tank and spread it around the gravel should be about two inches deep and the rest is up to you.

After rinsing your gravel, you can rake the gravel with your hand so that it lies at an angle - higher at the rear of the tank and lower at the front. This allows the detritus (uneaten food and fish poop) to near the front and make cleaning easier.
