Every baby is different but by a year, they should be able to eat most foods as long as they chew well. My seven month old granddaughter is eating table food except for meats like steak or chops or crispy items like Doritos. Her diet is supplemented with baby foods when there's something she can't handle yet but she is very healthy and prefers regular food.

My daughter just turned 13 months and eats pretty much whatever we do. She loves things she can chew as she has already gotten molars. She particularly loves fruit, veggies and meat. We had a turkey breast the other day for dinner and she inhaled it!!! I only cook fresh or frozen veggies and watch salt, preservatives, etc. I also give her things in moderation, meaning I will let her try just about anything but not necessarily a whole meals worth just to see at first how it affects her. We don't eat hotdogs but do love german brats which she also loves. She even loves sauerkraut!

But it's so nice not to have to buy baby food any more!!

My daughter turned 13 months a couple of days ago. Here are meals that I feed her.

Breakfast:
Whole wheat toast or waffle and cut up banana or apples, or pears or peaches, or yogurt. Sometimes I mix the fruit with oatmeal.

Lunch and dinner:
homemade chicken noodle soup, black beans and rice, lentils and carrots, chicken peas and rice, grilled cheese sandwich with mixed veggies on the side, spaggetti, chunks of squash or sweet potato, homemade veggie soup, broccoli, cheese nuggets that I make. It's endless...

I'm making a butternut squash soup for dinner tonight for the whole family.

When my babies were 12 months, they ate pretty much what I ate, just cut up alot more. Don't give children under 3 wieners though, as much as they love them, they are too hard to digest. Also, very limited salt intake is still needed. I never add salt to my cooking though. Just make sure what you give your child is healthy.
