If I were to cast something with Plaster of Paris, what would I use for a mold release?

Try car wax, or if the mold you are using is able to flex use a spray cooking oil like PAM. I have had good luck with car wax, but it may fill in small areas in the detail of the mold. The cooking spray should work for you.
