regardless that you have MOT, if an officer points out a noticeable flaw with your vehicle, it must be repaired.

just go to the garage and let them know what the fault is and as to whether it invalidates your MOT. If the flaw is not necessary to fix then get this in writing from the garage.

otherwise you are left with performing the necessary repairs and the garage will issue an invoice/receipt. give a copy to the reporting officer along with the original paperwork from the officer (make sure the garage stamps it).

it is the law that regular checks are performed on your vehicle so that it does not harm the environment and not pose a threat to other road users.

The important thing to remember is that your MOT is a yearly check of your vehicle, and is only really saying that on the date stamped, your vehicle passed all the relevant tests. The police stopped you because of an apparent fault with your vehicle, which you had repaired, the police are now erring on the safe side to ensure that your vehicle is now actually road worthy. Isn't it better to have peace of mind, even for your own sake.

You have to take it to an mot station once the works done and they do you a new mot.
And they stamp your prohibition order.

Its all changed now even if you get pulled for the slightest you have to take it to your nearest V O S A Station to you a goverment licensing station and get the car checked for the part you had replaced or fixed they will then give you the pass certificate and you are then ok to drive it.Or was your M O T certificate authentic or a bob a job one or the station did a lousy job just to get your money
