there are three benefits I can think of to castration:

1. You can't get kicked in the balls again since you won't have any.

2. You can't get anyone pregnant since you won't be prodicing any more sperm.

3. You will eliminate the source of the hormone that controls hair growth and loss so if you are castrated early enough you won't be a hairy guy and later in life you probably won't go bald.

Apparently there are others but you must keep in mind there are also some serious drawbacks to removal of your testicles. Read the first site I referenced below for a fairly good dialogue on the subject.

As for methods, there are really none availavle for self-castration. Yes, you can use one of the common techniques but the pain, the bleeding or the risks fo infection are probably going to stop you short or result in a trip to the emergency room for help or both. No matter how you shake it, you really won;t manage to do it on your own so if you are bound and determined to lose your testicles, you need to seriously consider having appropriate help in the process. While the second site does describe a few methods, remember they are for calves who are being restrained (tied down) since the pain is not going to let any human or calf go through with the procedure willingly.

Probably the BEST, and safest method, DIY, would be with the use of a Burdizzo!
Essentially, it is a large pair of specialized pliers, that you clamp over your testiculat chorde, one at a time, and CRUSH the chorde, beyond repair, which stops any blood flow to your testicle - and it starves, suffocates, and dies!! Then the body reabsorbs it, if done properly, or it shrinks to the the size of a hard pea, if done less well - in either case, your testicle is dead, and you are Castrated, if both sides are done.

As it is a BloodLess mehod, there is very little chance for infection, and so is pretty safe, as there is never an open wound!!

However, it is EXTREMELY painful, and it is quite impossible, to actually do it to yourself - but with the help of a nob-squeamish friend, with NO surgical knowledge, a satisfatory Castration will usually result!!

Also, in some countries, and regions, it is NOT technically illegal, as nobody is "Performing a-Surgery, without a medical licence".
I am led to believe, that this is the case, in some states in the United States - and I think that California is one of them. However, you MAY be charged, with grevous bodily harm, or similar misdemeanor.
Obviously this is less of an issue, if the recipient, is a willing participant!!

The pain, I believe, is considerably greater, than to be kicked in the nuts, HARD, with a pair of steel capped work boots!!

Various methods can be used to reduce this!! Soaking in ice-water, with ice blocks to make them completely numb, wrapping a thick, wide elastic band around them, pinching off the blood supply, until completely numb, getting blotto, on alcohol (very bad idea - as this makes you bleed profusely, internally, and I mention it ONLY, so that you DO NOT consider this), or the best solution, is an injecton, of a proper, medical local anaesthetic!

Of course, the best solution, is to find a willing surgeon, and get it done Professionally!! Easier said, than done, though!!

The only reason for surgical castration is to diminish testosterone significantly. Usually in trans gender M-F. (Especially if they are going to undergo gender reassignment.) But also some sex offenders have volunteered to be castrated. When the testosterone is diminished, there is much less sex drive.

Obviously, not something you can do to yourself.

Geez, why would you want to do that? There are no benefits of castration. What a weird question.

My husband is interested in getting castrated because he can not satisfy me sexually. So I too like to see him comfortable in bed with me without any sexual or semi-arousal which bothers him and me too.

DO NOT DO THIS YOURSELF

If you need it done for mental or sexual reasons talk to a GP. If you just want to try, then you should see a shrink
