I don't see why the color should be a problem, as long as the material and tailoring are of good quality.

I think it might be acceptable to wear an ELVIS suit to a wedding in Las Vegas. But, yeah, a tan suit would be good for a wedding (as long as you're not the groom...)

Unfortunately, guys are far more restricted in fashion choices. A tan suit at a wedding would be a major breach of the unwritten rules of male fashion. Dark suits only at formal weddings. It's like the senate; all those dudes dress alike.
The one exception would be if you absolutely knew that the wedding was going to be extremely informal, and the majority of guests would be dressed very casually.

I think that if a wedding is in Las Vegas, any color suit is acceptable. But seriously, as long as you like it and will be happy with viewing pics of yourself for the rest of your life wearing that outfit, knowing it's something that you won't be regretting later - go for it.

A tan suit is rarely acceptable.
It really depends on the colours of the wedding though. If I were you I'd go with black or grey, light colours are better for the summer or evening wear. Wear a charcoal suit with white pin-stripes (or violet) and a white shirt with a violet ascot, and in your jacket have a violet pocket square. Black chelsea boots.
Clean shaven.

I tend to think of tan as more of a Spring or Summer color. I prefer the idea of dark colored clothing in the Winter and Fall.

If you have nothing else why not. But black or dark is preferred.
