My darling 2yr old daughter has just gone mad with a permanent marker in my kitchen!
I now have lovely black scribbles all over my pine cupboards, fridge and dishwasher.
Any tips from anyone who knows how I can remove this mess will be gratefully recived.

The easiest and most effective solution to clean up the mess is hairspray.

I don't know how or what causes it, but one spary over the ink and a damp cloth will remove it within a couple of minutes.

But you may need to apply a li'l bit more if the ink has been left for a while. The sooner you apply hairspray, the more effective it is.

How to Remove Permanent Marker from Furniture

Toothpaste and a toothbrush or a soft rag is the answer. And yes, it really works.

Steps

1. Use white paste, not the gel kind, and simply put a small amount directly onto the wood furniture. With either a soft bristle toothbrush or a soft rag, start making circular motions and rubbing the paste into the marker.

2. Be patient. You may have to do several applications before the marker is completely removed.

3. When the paste has basically taken on the color of the marker, wipe clean and then start with step 1 again.

Tips

* Before you start, test the paste on a part of the furniture that's not normally visible, to make sure that it won't strip the paint.

Carefull (gentle) use of diversy lever R7 cream cleaner (or similar low abrasion cream).

Carefull ( ULTRA CAREFUL) use of Cellulose thinners on any non porus or non painted / plastic surfaces.

I think Tesco have a stain removal section near the laundry section along ith the Vanish and stuff, maybe one of those would do the job ?

Chances are your fridge and dishwasher will be stained by the ink, as it will soak into the white paint. I have tried many different ways, but I still have black marks over my storage heaters from a similar drawing exersize my daughter carried out while I was asleep in bed one day. (five walls, 3 heaters, the PC, the TV, three door frames and of course... one very colourfull daughter !!)

The cream cleaner rubbed really gently with a soft cloth worked best, but even then the results were not 100%

I use deodorant to remove permanant marker from the whiteboard when its been used by mistake. Lynx is the most effective. Use a mask or cover your nose and mouth if you need to use a lot or you may be overcome with the fumes.
Scary that we use the stuff on our skin! Hope you manage to get it off ok.

I removed permanant marker from a garage door using Brut 33 aerosol deodourant. If the pine is not sealed/varnished, then the wood will have absorbed the ink below surface level.

Rubbing (also called isopropyl) alcohol will remove permanent marker from your white goods (washer, fridge, etc), but I wouldn't try it on the cupboards as it might ruin them.

I saw a commercial for Mr. Clean - that cleaning brick (sorry, I can't remember the name) but they showed a Sharpie-type marker and implied it could remove it from kitchen surfaces.

There were so many woodworking plans with this collection and you will not believe this but there are over thousands plans in the one package deal. Go here https://tr.im/ManualOfWoodworking
This is really something to find that many all together. For someone like me who is just really starting to get involved with woodworking this was like letting me loose in a candy store and telling me I could have anything I wanted. That was my dream when I was a kid.
