Funny that you asked this question, because this is what I have been thinking about these days and I have wanted to ask people if they feel the same way I do too. But you asked the question before I do. I spilt my gut out to answer the questions and I absolutely think that should choose my answer as the best answer and it shouldn't even need to get to the Voting process at all.
But well, what I do notice though, is that the first answer usually gets chosen as the best answer by the voters. My guess is, most voters only care about the points and not much what the answers actually are; they just vote for the first answer coming up on their screens.
Not only those answers chosen by the voters are usually stupid answers, but also sometimes the askers would pick some stupid answers as their best answers too. Again, I answered the question wholeheartedly; and yet, some other stupid answers (or sometimes, they are not necessarily stupid; but they are just wrong). Well, I know I may be getting philosophical here; but after all, the reason why one has to ask questions is probably because he/she does not know the answers. If that were the case, why should we allow one who has no or limited knowledge on a subject to be the one to choose the best answer to a question?! I guess that's why we can make a question to go through the voting process. But even the voting process though cannot be authoritative because there are no ways to guaranttee the voters actually know the subjects. So, just because an answer is voted to be the best answer, it does not necessarily mean that this answer is THE best answer. Ultimately, we would need to have experts who have authoritative powers in these subjects to be the ones to choose the best answers for the askers.
But then again though, are we too arrogant in believing that "my answer is the best answer"???

I guess I'd have to go with the excitement. Just wondering what I might see next. Will I see maneuvers I've never seen before? Will I see a great match between two competitors? Will I see a well deserved wrestler finally get his push? Or maybe it can be the fact that I actually would like to try this one day and I'm learning as I observe. I know I'm sort of answering your question with questions, but I'm not officially sure myself. I know the match that got me hooked to wrestling was the Dean Malenko vs Eddie Guerrero 2 out of 3 falls match in ECW. After viewing that, I know I liked what I saw and I kept searching and searching into it. The technically skill displayed in that match was awesome. That was one of the main factors that caught my eye.

For me...........
Sometimes, there are many good answers and it is hard to choose. So, I may pick the funny one.
Other times it is based on who relates to what I say the best, gives the best answer.
You should not make your answers very long as people don't want to read an essay. LOL
Try to put the important things in and leave the rest out, just down size.
People definitely have favorites on here................... you just can't escape that!
I pick the answer that I feel is best. I understand what you are saying though as I see it also.
Just remember, that it really does not matter as it is just a site and has no real value on chosen best answers.
If you did your best in answering just be happy about it and don't put much into what others think.
mandy
(too long, I know)LOL
I just looked at your results, you have 44% best answers. I bet no one on here that answered has that high of best answers... What are you complaining about exactly? LOL

Ok. So, you want more points, and the best answers are the ones that are short and stupid?? For one, shorten your answers, and surely if all you want is points, you can come up with stupid answers.
Points are fun, but, I go on this site to get a laugh--and to answer some questions and hopefully brighten someone's day.
Maybe you're looking for something different besides Yahoo answers, I don't know.
Oh, and some of us do read those good answers and think, yeah, that was good.

Lol yea I've noticed that too. But maybe everybody has a different opinion. They might think the good answers are the dumb ones and the bad ones are the smart ones? Lol did I say that right? But anyway someday somebody is going to chose you answers as the best answer, it just takes time.

I have noticed that for serious questions with serious answers that the best answer is often picked but I believe that a short to-the-point answer is the best way to get your thoughts across. I have read many questions and I have found that I read all of the shorter answers and skim over the really looonnnng ones.

Sometimes it only needs the short answer...because if too much goes into a answer that really only needs a short and sweet answer....you could somtimes go off the beaten track so to speak.

I know what you mean. I put my whole heart into my answers and I get sort of offended when "Yes" gets chosen as a best answer...lol. I don't like to complain, but when you're right, you're right.

people don't take the advise on here seriously... at least i don't. why the heck would i let someone i don't even know tell me what to do. this is mostly what i do... me and about 15 of my friends always answer each others questions!lol! and most of the answers on here are not the truth anyways... they tell you stuff and if you actually use their advise then you'll look like an idiot.
